Operations Manager


For our production site in Oosterhout we are looking for an experienced Operations Manager. In this role you create oversight and stability within the dynamics of our production environment and ensure the efficient progress of all processes. You are a leader who takes responsibility, spots opportunities and acts on initiatives with pace. You bring a clear vision and a people-centred approach, linking processes and people. You will be at the helm of our most important production location!
You will directly manage the local operations team. This team consists of our Production Manager, Quality Manager, Buyer, HR Manager, Finance Manager, Technical Manager and Data Analyst. Indirectly, you lead a team of around 80 employees (excluding the flexible workforce) across multiple disciplines and 3 shift patterns. You report directly to the executive team.

De Kroes Tasty Bakeries is a leading international player in the production and sale of delicious products such as (cheese) crackers, toasts, breakfast crackers, pastry, and many other sweet and savory treats. We have four factories located in the Netherlands, France, and Germany, employing around 200 colleagues. Our products are mainly sold in supermarkets across Western Europe, but you can also find them beyond.
Who are you?
You combine reliability with the ability to drive renewal within our plant and lead this location in an inspiring and decisive way. You are ultimately responsible for the production process, the performance and development of your team, and the continuous improvement of our results. With your helicopter view you create structure. You know where you want to go and bring your colleagues along. On a daily basis you work closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain and Finance. You are sharp on safety, efficiency and delivery reliability. You manage by data, yet you also trust your intuition and your team. You see opportunities where others see obstacles and you are not afraid to challenge existing ways of working. You continue to build our culture of openness, trust and collaboration.
What will you do?
- Co-define and deliver the plant’s operational objectives (KPIs): output, efficiency, delivery reliability and quality and hold ultimate accountability for them.
- Achieve cost savings and process optimisations.
- Coach, motivate and develop employees.
- Ensure compliance with safety, occupational health and environmental regulations.
- Foster an open atmosphere where colleagues enjoy working and want to contribute.
What are we looking for?
- Experience managing a production environment, preferably within FMCG.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s level of working and thinking, and a strong personality who connects people.
- Strong analytical skills, decisiveness and excellent communication.
- A clear vision on leadership and process optimisation, unafraid to think outside the box.
- The ability to switch quickly between operations and strategy, with an eye for people and results.
